International Business Exchange (IBEX) successfully brokered the sale of the business Grant Fastener, Inc in Houston, Tx on August 28th, 2013 to a undisclosed corporation. IBEX acted as the merger and acquisition advisor to the deal, helping the business owner list, market, wade through buyers, due diligence and close the deal. Grant Fasteners Inc. was established in 1978 as a wholesale distributor of fasteners to the Oil and Gas industry. The Company is well known in the industry and has earned a solid reputation over the years by focusing on providing quality service and support to its customers. The Company received widespread publicity in the 1980’s as the owner, Tommy Grant, testified before congress regarding the issue of inferior fastener products being imported from overseas. At the time, there were concerns over inferior bolts and fasteners being used in construction projects that could potentially lead to structure failure and building collapse. Tommy Grant was interviewed by Dianne Sawyer on 60 minutes and was an outspoken advocate of increased safety regulations for the fastener industry. The Company has focused on supplying fastener products to the Oil and Gas companies operating in the Gulf Coast region. The only employees the Company has currently are the owner and a full time assistant. This business is a wholesale operation. The Company maintains an inventory of items purchased from wholesale suppliers to be distributed to customers as needed. The Company operates out of a warehouse with a forklift, pallets, shelving and storage bins all set up for receiving shipments and fulfilling orders. The Company also has various shop equipment such as saws to cut bolts for custom size orders.
